I tried to contact this family through the e-mail addy on the
hitchhiker, but it came back undeliverable.

I found your Happy Father's Day Hitchhiker here in CT today, but the
logbook is full. I can put a new logbook in it, keep it going, and
send you the old one, OR I can send you home the hitchhiker.
